Ireland, St Patrick and the Pests

Ireland was once infested with snakes. So say the Christian stories of St. Patrick, who supposedly expelled them with his Baculum Jesu or Staff of Jesus [1]. Of course Ireland has no indigenous snakes at all and so he must have been speaking of a symbolically. But to what was he referring?

For years, scholars, Christians and even alternative historians have been arguing over what exactly St Patrick was eradicating. There is precious little evidence of St Patrick even coming to Ireland, just as there is no evidence that St Paul went to Malta and kicked out the snakes there too! So what’s the truth? And is there any spiritual relevance for us today?

Across Ireland there are hundreds of crosses, many of which can be proven to have pre-Christian origins, and many are entwined with images of serpents. The same is true of other locations, such as Malta as I’ve just mentioned, Rhodes, India, Greece and many more. In all these places snakes are found on ancient megalithic monuments and Christian buildings.

These are remnants of a pre-existent serpent-worshipping cult. The serpent cult, is so often misread as consisting of solar worshippers. They worshipped the esoteric or inner sun. For us today this inner light is the realization of our own connection to the greater universe, of our own inner balance and our own growth towards a more ‘in-tune’ attitude to the world around us. It is also the part of ourselves and our outer world, which gives life, sustains and gives growth.

The sun, found in the sky and as an inner light found within via methods pertaining to the inner serpent energies, [2] as they were perceived. These inner serpentine and solar linked visions were physically represented in megalithic monuments, oral folktales and art.

The existence of this universal cult can also be discovered in other elements of the Irish and Celtic tradition. There is scarcely a design or ornament in Ireland from ancient times that do not show the serpent or dragon image. There is scarcely a myth, a folk tale or a legend, which does not include the serpent. These are not just pagan ornaments or myths – they also bled into the Christian world, or more accurately, the Christians could not keep them out it was so deep in the Irish culture.

The Church had spent many years trying desperately to demonize the serpent, making it the evil snake in the Garden of Eden or even picturing Lucifer, the angel of light, as the serpent. The reason is simple. Knowledge is powerful, but knowledge of yourself is much more powerful – the Church, as the intermediaries between us and knowledge of the Divine could not allow this. But the snake maintained its position steadfastly within the Church, clinging on like limpet. It was in fact the only animal in the Bible to speak using it’s own voice; it was used by Moses in the wilderness to heal the Israelites and it was used by the first Christians as the symbol for the Christ himself.

Serpents can be found on Irish Christian crosses such as those of Killamery in Kilkenny County and the font of Cashel, amongst others. Indeed, even the Crosier (priests staff) of Cashel has a serpent emerging from a vagina – which itself is covered in serpents – therefore symbolizing ‘new life’ via the born-again serpent.

The crosier itself basically resembles the staff of Moses or Aaron, or even that of an Etruscan or Babylonian priest – all cultures linked to serpent worship. Unfortunately fundamentalists and strict Protestants removed many of these serpents found adorning such crosses, in an attempt to hide the true history.

Also seen on Irish crosses are strange figures, which have extra large heads in relation to their body. Some have said that this is due to the predominance of a “Celtic Head Cult”, but the evidence we uncovered in The Serpent Grail [3] pointed to the fact that both the serpent cult and the head cult are one and the same. We found that this was due to the internal psychological and spiritual process brought on by the serpent energies.

In Irish tales these great serpents or “piests” (pests), were said to be “as big as a horse, and have a great mane upon it, so it has.” (Legend of the Lakes, Croker, relating to Lough Kittane of Killarney). This has baffled many and has given rise to the link between the snake-serpent and the fabled dragon in many cultures. The tales of the great serpents of huge size and even compared to mountains reveals much. Many of these serpent tales refer to actual locations whereby ancient man created great centers of healing, initiation and ritual – all linked to the universal worship of the serpent.

The Fenian heroes of ancient Ireland are recorded orally in song and one of them, Fionn, was their ‘dragon slayer.’ One of the legends tells us that:

“It resembles a great mound, its jaws were yawning wide;
There might lie concealed, though great its fury,
A hundred champions in its eye-pits.
Taller in height than eight men,
Was its tail, which was erect above its back;
Thicker was the most slender part of its tail,
Than the forest oak which was sunk by the flood.”

Fionn asked where this great monster had come from and was told, “From Greece, to demand battle from the Fenians.” Perhaps serpent worshippers had come to Ireland from Greece, and had fought the ancient inhabitants, leaving behind such terror that they became symbolized by this great ‘dragon mound.’ Fionn, it is said, opened the side of the dragon and released the men, going on to kill it. It may be that there is a mixture of wartime fact entwined with the symbolism of this legend. Emerging from the side of the dragon, according to all the myths, gives new life, leaving us no doubt that these serpentine monuments were places of initiation and rebirth.

Evidence of ancient serpent worship in the Americas can be verified from the many serpent mounds that appear across the continent. In Ohio, there is a large serpentine mound with a large head of the snake swallowing (or throwing up) a large egg. Similar snake mounds can be found across the world. Some are man-made, others natural and adapted – such as Hackpens Hill near Avebury in England, where Hack means snake and pen means head – thereby giving us “snakes head hill”. These large serpents, still seen in the land today were ancient burial mounds, earthworks and places of ritual for the serpent worshipping cults of our ancestors. The great mane upon the mound, being grass or trees.

In 1871 at the meeting of the British Association in Edinburgh, a certain Mr. Phene gave an account of his discovery in Argyllshire, Scotland, of a mound, “several hundred feet long, fifteen feet high and thirty feet broad.” The tail tapers away from a circular cairn, which he presumed to be a solar disk above the head of the “Egyptian uraeus”. [4] This fiery Uraeus serpent, or more properly Wadjet, anoints the head with flames, as referred to in the Bible in Apostles, Acts 2, where the Apostles are filled with the holy spirit, and flames lick above their heads. Here we have a clue to the serpents connection to spirituality.

In the Pyramid Texts the Wadjet is linked strongly with nature. The papyrus plant is said to emerge from her and she is connected to the forces of growth, fertility and creative power. The Uraeus is an indication of the divine wisdom and solar-force, emerging from the brow of the head, symbolically represented in the serpent mounds appearing on the brow of a hill. The brow is known as the ‘temple’.

Within the Temple is the Holy of Holies, the most sacred place in a human’s body. In Native American traditions many underground caverns within landscaped mounds are where known to be places where initiation rites occurred. From our research, it appears these places were ritualistic re-birthing portals as if from the womb of the creative serpentine mother.

In Egyptian history Osiris entered the serpent and emerged reborn and invigorated, and our European and American ancestors mimicked this belief. In all cases it was the wisdom of the serpent, which gave the strength to empower the individual to move on in life, as if born again.

Serpent mounds – a worldwide phenomenon

Further references to serpent mounds can be found across the world. In the Persian holy book Zend Avesta one of the story’s heroes takes a rest on what he thinks is a bank – only to find out that it was a green snake. In Mauritania, Iphicrates says that “there were dragons of such extent that grass grew up on their backs.” In Strabo (Lib xv. P.1022) two dragons are said to have resided in the mountains of India, one eighty cubits long and the other one hundred and forty.

From Syria Posidonius tells of a dragon which was so large that horse riders on either side could not see each other. Each ‘scale’ was as big as a shield, so that a man “might ride into his mouth.” It is thought that these must be ruins of Ophite (serpent worshiping) temples. In some parts of Syria serpent worshippers were known as Hivites (linked with the root word hivvah which from which came the biblical name of Eve which could then be equated with “female serpent”). In India serpent deities are known as the Naga.

From South America text said to have been written by Votan (Quetzalcoatl), in the language of the Quiches says he left Valum Chivim [5] and came to the New World to apportion land among seven families who came with him and were said to be of serpent origin or culebra. Passing the “land of thirteen snakes” he arrived in Valum Votan, founding the city of Nachan (City of Snakes), thought to be Palenque, possibly around 15 BC or even earlier.

In reference to Serpent Mounds there is the description of a subterranean passage, that terminated at the ‘root of heaven’ – referred to as a ‘snake’s hole’ while snake heaven was Patala. Votan was only allowed entry because he was ‘the son of a snake’ from which we can infer he was an initiate in the serpent cult.

Serpent Wisdom


There are two distinct elements of practical wisdom originating in the serpent tales, fables and folklore. Firstly that the physical snake itself not only sloughs off its skin and appears to be re-born from within a cave or under a rock, but that the very elements of the physical snake could actually prevent disease and cures ill health. The knowledge of amazing regenerative properties of the various parts of the snake have been discovered in hundreds of ancient medica materia, alchemical texts and hidden within folklore.

The venom of the snake was used as an Elixir to help prevent disease through boosting the immune system with high levels of protein. And secondly mixing the neurotoxic venom with the blood of the snake or mammalian host such as a horse brings on altered states of consciousness much akin to certain drugs used by shaman across the world from ancient times. Visions of ‘otherworlds’ seen in such trances are often depicted as tombs, wombs or caves, within which sometimes benevolent, sometimes terrible, serpents are encountered.

In any discussion of serpent wisdom we cannot fail to also mention the ancient Hindu Kundalini practice. Kundalini means simply “coiled serpent” and in the Indian system the ida and pingala energy (through serpent channels) are raised up and down the spine to raise the consciousness of the adept. There are six chakra energy vortices aligning the spine, with a seventh emerging from the top of the head, which is called the bindu. Each chakra location must be traversed upwardly, and in balance, before one can achieve the bindu enlightenment reminiscent of the reference in Apostles, Acts 2 where enlightenment is reached and described as fire licking at the head in the bindu position.

I recently met up with the dowser Hamish Miller who has followed the Michael and Mary lines of telluric energy across Europe finding many examples of Kundalini images and the dual serpentine caduceus known to all health practitioners the world over. We shared our amazement at the widespread frequency of the serpent in myth and folklore

Mankind has from time immemorial searched for longer life and divine wisdom. The result is a sacred and often, secret code, hidden in the landscape, locked away in ancient texts and deep within our own inner energy system. It is a secret code of the divine and wise serpent that has survived the attempts of the Christian Church to eradicate it.

It is seen in the sky, on the ground, hidden in language and glaring at us from the pages of our most profound books – the snake. In this Article I want to extend that now a little and for us to journey around the world of symbols. By understanding what many of these symbols mean and just how universal they are we will be guided into this lost world of our past. We will begin with a symbol of life itself from the world’s greatest ancient civilization.

Ankh

The Ankh is the Crux Ansata. A simple T-Cross, surmounted by an oval – called the RU, which is, simply put, the gateway to enlightenment.

This enigmatic symbol of Egypt represents ‘eternal life’ and was often found in the names of Pharaoh’s such as Tut-ankh-amun. The symbol is often depicted being held by a god to a Pharaoh, giving him life, or held by a Pharaoh to his people, giving them life – this basically set aside the immortals, from the mortals, for anyone wearing or carrying the Ankh had gained or hoped to gain immortality. In truth also, the pharaoh was God on earth and so he held his own symbol of the sun and the serpent to his people – he was the sun, giving us life, just as it does in nature.

It is the loop (the RU or gateway) of the Ankh, which is held by the immortals to the nostrils (as in the Biblical god breathing life into the nostrils of Adam.) If indeed these ‘immortals’ are the sun, moon and stars, then this Ru device is indeed a gateway to the stars – or basically a gateway to what we were believed to return or become following death. The Ankh though outlived Egyptian domination and was widely used by the Christians as their first cross, but in this symbol holds a clue to the secret of the serpent.

Thoth (see Taautus below) was said to have symbolized the four elements with a simple cross, which originated from the oldest Phoenician alphabet as the curling serpent. Indeed Philo adds that the Phoenician alphabet “are those formed by means of serpents… and adored them as the supreme gods, the rulers of the universe.” Thus bringing to mind the god Thoth, who again is related to the worship of serpents and who created the alphabet. The “rulers of the universe” are indeed the planets and stars.

Bunsen in the 19th century thought, “the forms and movements of serpents were employed in the invention of the oldest letters, which represent gods.” This symbol of the four elements was altered slightly and became the Egyptian Taut, the same as the Greek Tau, which is where we get the name Tau Cross from – a simple T.

The T or Tau cross has been a symbol of eternal life in many cultures and gives its name to the Bull in the Astrological sign of Taurus – note here the two elements of the Tau and the RU being brought together. In fact the Druids (or “adders” after the snake) venerated the tree and the snake by scrawling the Tau cross into tree bark.

In the Middle Ages the Tau cross was used in amulets to protect the wearer against disease.

Amongst the modern Freemasons the Tau has many meanings. Some say that it stands for Templus Hierosolyma or the ‘Temple of Jerusalem,’ others that it signifies hidden treasure or means Clavis ad Thesaurum, ‘A key to treasure‘ or Theca ubi res pretiosa, ‘A place where the precious thing is concealed.’

It is especially important in Royal Arch Masonry where it becomes the ‘Companions Jewel’ with a serpent as a circle above the cross bar – forming the Ankh with the Hebrew word for ‘serpent’ engraved on the upright and also including the Triple Tau – a symbol for hidden treasure and significantly made up of 8 right angles.

It was also the symbol for St. Anthony – later to become the symbol for the Knights Templar of St. Anthony of Leith in Scotland. St. Anthony lived in the 4th century AD and is credited with establishing Monasticism in Egypt, and generally the story goes that he sold all his possessions after hearing from the Lord and marched off into the wilderness to become a hermit.

On his travels he learned much from various sages in Egypt and grew for himself a large following. He was sorely tempted by the devil in the form of ‘creeping things’ and serpents (chaos). In one episode he follows a trail of gold to a temple, which is infested with serpents and takes up residence, needing little food for sustenance other than bread and water. He is said to have lived 105 years and due to this longevity he is credited with protective powers.

The Order of the Hospitalers of St. Anthony, who would later take much of the Templar wealth, brought many of Anthony’s relics to France in the 11th century, although they were said to have been secretly deposited somewhere in Egypt just after his death and then later to have found their way to Alexandria.

The Taut or Tau symbolizes the creating four elements of the universe. Next the symbol of the sun / serpent was added, a simple circle or the oval RU. This loop above the T cross-created the Ankh, the symbol of eternity. The snake in a circle eating its own tale is symbolical of the sun and immortality.

The symbol of the moon was added to this, turning it into the sign for Hermes/Mercury and showing the Caduceus/Serpent origin. No wonder that this, the most perfect and simple of symbolical devices became the symbol of the early Christians; no wonder that, even though there were no cross-beam crucifixions, Christ was never the less symbolically crucified on a symbol of eternal life, a symbol of the serpent.

This symbol became the mark or sign, which would set the believer aside for saving. In Ezekiel this is the mark that god will know, the mark on the forehead. As Deane points out the Ezekiel passage (9:4) should read, “set a Tau upon their foreheads.” or “mark with the letter Tau the foreheads.” The early Christians baptized with the term “crucis thaumate notare.” They baptized with the symbol of the sun-snake (sun-ake). And St. Paul himself in Galatians 6: 17 states “let no-one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.”

Is this the original mark of Cain, who we have found to be of the serpent tribe?

The idea of this sign or mark is widespread once discovered. In Job 31:35 we read in our modern Bibles “I sign now my defense – let the Almighty answer me” which should properly read, “Behold, here is my Tau, let the Almighty answer me.” He then goes on and says “Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.”

This remarkable idea of wearing the Tau cross on the shoulder as a sign would later become part and parcel of the crusader Templars markings, the very same Templars who are instigated in the worship of serpents. Also the Merovingians (said by some to be descended from Jesus and a sea serpent or fish god – the Quinotaur or Quino-Tau-rus) were supposedly born with a red cross between their shoulder blades. The Tau cross is also strangely used by those practicing sacred geometry as a “marker” for buried treasure, whether physical or spiritual.

In shape, the Ankh is very similar to the Egyptian musical instrument, which is shaped like the oval RU – the Sistrum.


Sistrum

An Egyptian musical instrument closely associated with female gods – especially Hathor the serpent/cow goddess and Isis – the consort of Osiris. In form, very much like the Ankh with a loop at the top – also representing the egg – and three serpents striking through the loop with small square pieces of metal, which rattle. It’s possible these three serpents represent the ida, pingala and sushumna nerve channels and which are said to converge and fuse together within the centre of the brain (the thalamus) – which in the individual was also thought to represent the ‘cosmic egg.’

During the ascent of these serpent energies up the spine to the centre of the head, the individual while going through this supposed enlightenment process, will hear sounds similar to the sounds the Sistrum makes – i.e., rattle sounds like tambourine bells and sounds like a bell-tree being stroked. One will also hear sounds like a ‘rattle snake’ and also whistles and flute-like instruments. Underlying these sounds is a very low and strong rumbling sound which fades-in at first and gets louder and louder as the process proceeds culminating in the bright, white light explosion in the centre of the head. The Sistrum then may have been a symbol of this experience.

The Sistrum was used in pictures and carvings to show the various gods and Pharaohs subduing the power of a particular god – and mostly because the god holding the Sistrum had the ‘power’ and ‘energy’ to do so through having had the enlightenment experience – also representing the externalized solar power.


Birds

The association between birds or wings and the serpent seems to go back in time many thousands of years and across the world. To quote John Bathurst Deane:

“The hierogram of the circle, wings, and serpent, is one of the most curios emblems of Ophiolatreia, and is recognized, with some modifications, in almost every country where serpent worship prevailed . . . It may be alleged that all these cannot be resolved into the single-winged serpent once coiled. Under their present form, certainly not; but it is possible that these may be corruption’s of the original emblem which was only preserved accurately in the neighborhood of the country where the cause of serpent-worship existed; namely, in Persia, which bordered upon Babylonia and Media, the rival loci of the Garden of Eden.”

Deane relates these many thousands of images of the ‘winged serpent’ to the Seraphim of the Bible, the ‘fiery’ and ‘flying serpents.’

These could also be the origins for the flying dragons and why Quetzalcoatl was the ‘feathered’ or ‘plumed serpent’ amongst others. The reason given by Deane for this symbolism is for proof of deity and consecration of a given Temple. If this is the case, then it was certainly believed that the ancient serpent had consecrated Temples across the world. And if the serpent was a true symbol of the sun (external) and the inner light (internal) then it was a perfect fusing of our ancestors belief in one location at one time (temple).

The real reason for the wings is that the serpent enlightenment aspect gave the adherent wings, symbolically making him/her higher in aspect and part of the “heavenly” chorus.


Dove

The dove is an important element in symbolism and for some reason was seen in the New Testament as a symbol of the Holy Spirit or feminine aspect of God. It came down upon Jesus as he was baptized, giving him that famous “born again” element.

It descended upon the disciples. But why was the Dove chosen?

The Mesoamerican god Quetzalcoatl is the ‘Feathered Serpent,’ so are there any links between the dove as a feathered bird and the serpent?

Eurynome was probably the most important Goddess of the Pelasgian myths. These Pelasgians were a people who arrived in Greece from Palestine over 5,500 years ago, although it also became a term for “real” Greeks later on.

Eurynome was the creator, the Mother Goddess – the ruler of all things. She was born from chaos; she separated the water from the sky and then danced across the water in-order to create.

Whilst dancing she created wind or breath and taking hold of it between her hands she rubbed and rubbed until she had created a snake. The snake was called Ophion and he was filled with desire for the ‘dancing goddess.’ Wrapping himself around her seven times he impregnated the goddess, who had now taken the form of a Dove, and created an egg.

From the egg came forth all animals and plants and so Eurynome ascended to Mount Olympus and watched as her children developed. The snake Ophion bragged about his creation and so Eurynome kicked out his teeth, from where came all the people, including the first man Pelasgus, (like Adam) and from where the tribe derived its name. Ophion was then kicked out of heaven. The creation of the world and all that is in it was therefore again due to the snake and a goddess. But how does this goddess relate to the bird?

By the Sumerians, one of the most ancient of civilizations, she was simply known as Iahu, the “exalted Dove.” This Eurynome cult had spread across the Mediterranean and became a base for many other myths and religions, including the Hebrew god Yahweh taking on elements of the name Lahu. She was an original Mother Goddess, the feminine aspect and was seen as a dove – and united with the serpent seed, she gave birth to creation.

The Dove of Christianity is the feminine aspect and brings new life; she was known as the breath – the same breath that emerges in the beginning and from the Egyptian Ankh (see Ankh) into the nostrils, bringing new life and immortality. The feminine aspect of Quetzalcoatl is the feathered bird aspect and the male-part the snake.


Celtic Knotwork and Other Symbols

Due to the prevalence of the serpent in the Celtic world and surrounding cultures, it is my understanding that Celtic Knotwork is derived from the images of the snake and the movements of the planets.

We can see influences of this in the spirals and other serpent shapes seen upon many of the world’s ancient monuments. In Scandinavian literature and stone art we can also see how the serpent appears, looking remarkably like Celtic Knotwork. In Roman and Greek wall paintings there are running spirals thought to be symbolic of the protective snake.

A Neolithic vessel, now in the museum of Henan in China, shows a distinct correlation between the idea of the snake and the Knotwork. The idea of the Knotwork coming from the snake was probably discontinued due to Christian influence.

Other symbols that are related to the snake include the Ivy leaf, a symbol of Bacchus/Dionysius and a symbol of immortality. The reasoning behind this symbol is simply that the leaf is similar to the snake’s head and it entwines around pillars and trees as the snake is shown to do in images across the world.

Related to this Ivy leaf image is the shape of the heart and we can see in two Japanese clay statuettes from the Jomon period that they have these snake-heart heads.

Many images of the Buddha also incorporate this Ivy/Heart shape head – a softening and hiding of the earlier images of Naga deities who had snakes heads. These Ivy and Heart shapes were thought to protect the person wearing them or the building adorned with them, and they are therefore no different to the concept of the protecting or guarding snake from folklore and legend. They are just basically symbolic of the original snake – and remaining so until Christianity demonized them. Of course the Ivy, along with that other serpentine symbol, the grapevine, are to be seen across the world’s Christian buildings, as Jesus claimed that we should be grafted onto the vine. Did Jesus really mean that we should be part of the serpent cult? Part of the family, which he was himself a creation of?

Of course the fruit of the vine is wine, and if the vine is an ancient symbol of the snake, then what is the fruit of the snake? Jesus said that we were to drink the wine as a symbol of his blood and therefore it was the blood of the snake.

Drink of the fruit of the vine and you shall have eternal life, a fruit created by God for our pleasure.


Spirals and other Rock Art

Marija Gimbutas in The Goddesses and Gods of Old Europe says:

“Compositions on the shoulders of cult vases reveal pairs of snakes with opposed heads, making the world roll with the energy of their spiralling bodies.”

Spirals and carvings of this snake energy are seen all over the world, much like the cult of the serpent. And, it is always found to be in association with the serpent worship. According to J.C. Cooper in An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Traditional Symbols, the spiral “typifies the androgyne and is connected with the caduceus symbolism” which is of course the symbol of serpent healing.

In Australia Robert Layton in Australian Rock Art: a new synthesis, points out the serpent origins of these images; images, which are always seen with other serpentine shapes. Figure three in Layton’s book shows these images clearly as “a snake entering a hole,” “a snake leaving a hole.” Remembering that the Ouroborus, the circular image of the snake eating its own tail, is an image of immortality, we should also remember the antiquity of the device. Along side spirals are circles like the Ouroborus, called often cup and ring marks.

There are also zigzags, thought by many to be the fiery aspect of the serpent, and waves, showing the fluidity of the serpent – something also related to the symbolism of Water. It is no surprise that such images of the snake, in all its relative forms should be seen on the most ancient of rock art. In the cup and ring marks there are many images of what appears to be a serpent entering the cup and rings.

Some have put this down to a serpent entering a hole, others that it is eating an egg; nobody is sure. What it does show is a serpent head towards a cup! If, of course, the snake is also the symbol of the macro sun, then these spirals and serpentine patterns may also reveal the pathways of the sun at various times of the year and the greater years – such as those of the precession of the earth.

The spirals have been associated with astronomical alignments. This can especially be seen in the work of N.L. Thomas in Irish Symbols of 3500 BC where the spiral running right to left is seen as the winter sun; the spiral running left to right is the summer sun and the double spiral as the spring and autumn equinox. There is little doubt from the work carried out by Thomas that this is true, but the fact also remains that the ancients were using symbols of the serpent in their astronomical alignments. This is matched by the fact that the serpent was seen in the sky, in various constellations and by the serpent encompassing the heavens. The two elements cannot be split apart – this was a unified theory of life and it was created by, given life by and kept fertile by the snake and the sun.

In Eurasia and Japan there are definite images of snakes as spirals. In earthenware from the middle Jomon period (approx 2000 BC) of Japan these can be seen quite clearly, and are said to be there to protect the contents of the jar from harm; something important was obviously in them. Clay figures from the same period also show wound snakes on the heads. These spirals became part of family crests and transformed over time into the Yin and Yang symbol of duality so popular today.

These family symbols are called Kamon and one class of them particularly is called Janome, which basically means eye of the snake. Characters for snakes in Chinese became part of the alphabet over 3000 years ago. Another interesting point about the snake in China is that the Rainbow is said to be the snake elevated into the sky much like the Australian Rainbow Serpent. Indeed, the Chinese character for Rainbow reflects this position as it has the symbol of the snake within it.

In Peru there is pottery with spirals ending in snakes heads. In Taiwan there is a sculptured door with spirals ending in snakes heads. In many Celtic stone monuments there are similar images – all leading to the now beautiful and ornate Celtic Knot-work


Swastika

The ancient symbol of the swastika is simply a stylized spiral as can be shown from the many depictions across the world of swastikas made up of spirals and snakes. It also shows up in the spiral fashions of the labyrinths and mazes. The word labyrinth comes directly from the ancient Minoan Snake Goddess culture of Crete, where the swastika was used as a symbol of the labyrinth and is linked etymologically with the “double headed axe” – the Tau Cross. Similar labyrinthine shaped swastikas have been found in the ancient city of Harappa from the 2000 BC.

As the labyrinth is viewed as a womb of the Mother Goddess, and a symbol of the snake, there is little wonder that these two symbols became fused. However, labyrinths were also seen as places of ancient serpent initiation and if viewed in the same manner as Serpent Mounds then it is further evidence for their real use. (See Serpent Mounds) In ancient Egypt the labyrinth was synonymous with what was called the Amenti – the snake like path taken by the dead to journey from death to resurrection.

It was Isis, the serpent queen of heaven who was to guide the souls through the twists of the Amenti. The path towards the centre, leads towards treasure. The snake adorning Athena in ancient Greece is shown with a swastika skirt. The same is true of Astarte and Artemis. There is Samarran pottery dating from 5000-4000 BC from Mesopotamia showing a female swastika, where the hair swirls with Medusa type serpents. The swastika is also shown as two serpents crossing each other.

In Norse myth, the hammer of Thor (note that Labyrinth means double headed axe just like the Hammer of Thor!), Mjollnir, is closely connected with the swastika and is found to be a prominent motif in Scandinavian art from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. It is found on swords and Anglo-Saxon cremation urns and on numerous Viking items. It was seen as a protector against thieves, reminiscent of the fact that serpents were known to guard treasure.

As Thor’s hammer was also seen as a Tau cross (See Taautus) it is certainly related to the secrets of the serpent. It was used by Thor to lop off the head of the sacred ox, which he used as bait to catch the Midgard Serpent, which circled the globe in the symbol of the Ouroboros, eating its own tail. This was Thor offering a head as sacrifice to the serpent to try and gain immortality in the mead – the drink of the gods. Thor’s aim was to gain a cauldron big enough to take the mead for the immortals and he needed to prove his worth by fishing for the serpent.

He had power of the serpent as the slayer, with the swastika or Tau cross. There is evidence to prove that the myths of these Scandinavians and the Hindus are related, as the story of Thor and the Midgard Serpent closely resemble the battle between Indra and Vritra, showing a common origin. Vritra is the great serpent, which lies at the source of two rivers (the positive and negative or male and female), as the Midgard Serpent lies beneath the sea (of the mind and the other side of the planet where the sun goes each night).

Indra slits open the belly of the serpent to release the waters and therefore fertility back to the land. Both gods, Indra and Thor, are related to the weather, both are warrior gods with a thunderbolt as a weapon and both slay the dragon. The swastika of the serpent is a common motif in both cultures. Eventually the Christians steal both pagan myths and place St. Michael and St. George in their place – both having the red serpent cross to replace the swastika.

The swastika is also the symbol of the movement of the earth fixed on one spot.


Taautus (Taut)

Said by Eusebius to be the originator of serpent worship in Phoenicia. Sanchoniathon called him a god and says that he made the first image of Coelus and invented hieroglyphs. This links him with Hermes Trismegistus, also known as Thoth in Egypt. Taautus consecrated the species of dragons and serpents; and the Phoenicians and Egyptians followed him in this superstition.

This Taautus could very well be a memory of the first group who originated the worship of the serpent after the flood or end of last ice age 12000 years ago. The idea of Taautus links precisely with the stories of Thoth, who later became a great sage of Gnostic and Alchemical beliefs. Thoth was deified after his death (a time that nobody knows) and given the title “the god of health” or “healing”. He was the proto-type for Aesculapius and identified with Hermes and Mercury. All healers, all wise, all teachers, all saviors and all associated with the serpent for their powers and all individuals who could map the stars and movements of time. However, it was as the healing god that Thoth was symbolized as the serpent – whereas he is normally represented with the head of an Ibis and Baboon.

The Letter or Symbol ‘Tau’ is the first letter of Taautus, Tammuz and Thoth and is thought to be the ‘Mark of Cain’.

So there we have many symbols and many references to the sun and the snake. There are often confusing elements at play here, which often seem to mislead us and appear ‘hidden’ because we have simply forgotten the real truth. In essence we can reduce all of this down into three simple and distinct parts to help us on our journey.

We must remember before we do so that the very word, snake, is derived from both the animal and the sun – sun-ake. Now we can see clearly that the serpent was often but not solely used as a symbol of the movements of the great god in the sky – the sun. Secondly the snake was a symbol of the internal ‘sun’ – what people know of today as enlightenment within and thirdly the real and literal snake did indeed offer up its body for our use. We created an Elixir of Life from its venom and blood, healed our skin with its skin and brewed wonderful concoctions from other parts.

All in all, the serpent or snake has been a very powerful literal and physical element, let alone a useful symbolic part of our history. We can now use our new knowledge to move forward and through some of the mysteries of mankind.

Secrets of The Stars

Something about secret groups and how there has always been so called conspiracies:

Man collects into groups, like schools of fish and flocks of birds. These groups become religions, secret societies, governments and cults. The reasons for these groupings are the same as it is for animals banding together. We come together for protection against predators, for strength in numbers. Whether you are a Freemason or a Boy Scout, the reason you join forces with others of like-race and like-mind is to gain strength and protection.

In the extensive research for my new book and DVD, Secret Societies: Gardiner’s Forbidden Knowledge, Revelations About the Freemasons, Templars, Illuminati, Nazis, and the Serpent Cults, I found that, historically, the secret societies of the world are all connected and all derive from a similar if not the same source, and that the threads running through them all have been traced by scholars throughout the ages.

As Le Couteulx de Canteleu said in his Les Sectes et Societes Secretes published in 1863:

“All secret societies have almost analogous initiations, from the Egyptian to the Illuminati, and most of them form a chain and give rise to others.”

According to an article published in the Patriot 1922 by G.G. or ‘Dargon’, entitled “The Anatomy of Revolution”,

“For centuries there have existed certain schools of mystical philosophy (with)… elements of Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Egyptian occultism mingled with Grecian mysteries, Jewish Kabalism, and fragments of ancient Syrian cults. Out of the hodge-podge of Oriental philosophy, magic, and mythology arose… Gnostic sects, and after the rise of Mohammedanism, heretical sects…

To the same sources may be traced the ideas that inspired such political-religious movements of the Middle Ages as the Illuminati, Albigenses, Cathari, Waldenses, Troubadours, Anabaptists, and Lollards and the rise of early secret societies. The Templars are said to have been initiated by the Assassins into anti-Christian and subversive mysteries, and we find similar traces of an old and occult origin in the Alchemists, the Rosicrucians, and later mystical cults… ”

This “analogous” form running through all secret societies is the underlying belief in and worship of the stars. It is this element which named them the shining ones and it is this element that is still at the root of so much misinterpreted symbolism. Even the Holy Vehm were ‘wissends’ who had the sun and the stars as symbols of power.

This worship of the stars was known as Sabeism and the high Mason, Albert Pike, pointed out:

“The seven great primitive nations, from whom all others are descended, the Persians, Chaldeans, Greeks, Egyptians, Turks, Indians, and Chinese, were all originally Sabeists and worshipped the stars.”

The very power of understanding the stars was jealously guarded by priesthoods around the world, from Aztec to Egyptian. The role of the priest was to interpret the movements of the stars, sun, and moon, in order to predict the future and for navigation. This jealousy forged ciphers, codes and symbols and forced the hiding and destruction of implements and tools of the trade. Many of the Freemasonic symbols we see today were never meant for building, they were meant for astrology and the logic of the stars.

These secrets of the stars were mystical to the early peoples who could not understand the magic. Secrets were passed from one generation to the next by initiates and adepts and this is how the long thread was woven, by passing on knowledge and keeping it hidden. Eventually, the secret brotherhoods no longer knew why they kept their odd symbols secret and why they said strange invocations. Yet, through tradition and dedication to their brothers, they kept alive a rich tapestry, a tapestry that I and other scholars can break down and interpret.

Hidden History

We must pull hard on the thread to unravel the tapestry, one generation at a time. According to Le Couteulx de Canteleu, the priests or leading men of the organizations followed the Egyptian hierarchy. At the highest level, there was the priest, who alone could do magic and contact the gods. At the second, we find the greater initiates, those chosen from the people and who must maintain secrecy at all costs and protect the priesthood. At the third, the lesser initiates were only told things that were deemed proper.

In this hierarchical trinity, we see the plan of most, if not all, of the world’s secret societies. The majority of Freemasons today fall into the category of the lesser initiates; they seek no more because they know of no more. Only at the highest degrees in Freemasonry are the real secrets revealed, and yet there have been some who claim to have been higher-level initiates or indeed ‘priests’ and who have since ‘spilled the beans’. Anyone who has seen these supposed secrets of white powdered gold and even Jewish conspiracy plots will know that this is misinformation at best and money-making at worst.

Lessons for Today

Each generation tends to look forward, forgetting that our past holds intelligent and thought provoking answers to questions that are and will always be relevant. Because we begin each generation afresh, we do not see the thread running through each generation from the one before––the thread of the secret society.

In the 20th century, psychology and psychoanalysis emerged, and the clever new words that came with them. Yet, why are we arrogant enough to believe that we discovered the root of human psychological problems? This is utter rubbish––Psyche herself was a Greek goddess.

For thousands of years, man has sought answers to the conundrums of his own inner reality––the only radical change is the wording. When we say that a person is psychotic, our ancestors would have said they were touched by the spirits. Are we more advanced than our ancestors?

90% of the world’s population still believes in God, yet, we still rage war in the name of religion and we pollute the environment and destroy our own homes. There is anthropological evidence to prove that ancient man was peaceful, living in harmony with his neighbor and respecting the earth and living in balance with it. As populations grew and more people occupied smaller spaces, minor wars erupted and even, violent sacrifices. Small bands of men gathered together to control those who fought, and these small bands emerged as our kings and queens, medicine men and priests, and our secret societies.

There is a lesson here for us all. Just 100 years ago, a billion people lived on the planet. Now, there are six billion and growing. Six billion people can do a lot of harm to themselves and the environment, destroying the whole for everyone. Without balance, without wisdom, without knowledge, where are we heading?

We may believe that some spark in the bio-chemical and electric brain is enlightenment, yet, it is not. Our masters tell us what to be like, what to buy, what to do and say. We no longer need to know ourselves–-the TV has all the answers. And yet, what we see on TV is a reflection of greed, money and capitalism and these can be interpreted as the dark forces of human nature. Light and dark are opposite sides of the same coin. Balance is wisdom, like a coin placed upon its edge, and like a coin, it can easily be knocked over.

I desire a good life that does not include a range of cars, a yacht in every port or another million. I am a realist, and the reality is that while one man has, another does not. My evolutionary instinct is to gather goods, property and wealth for the bad times ahead, to see me through the winter or the coming storm. The down side of this is that we grow that divisive side of our nature, greed, and somebody somewhere suffers. We join forces with others and hold our newfound cabal in secrecy, protecting it until time matures the original intention until it becomes unrecognizable––these are the origins of the secret societies of the ancients.

The ancient Chinese texts tell us that mankind has been in this situation before many times and that his greed and ‘noise’ has brought his civilization crashing down to the ground.

Introduction & Overview

There are a number of alternative healing therapies that work so well and cost so little (compared to conventional treatment), that Organized Medicine, the Food & Drug Administration, and their overlords in the Pharmaceutical Industry (The Big Three) would rather the public not know about them. The reason is obvious: Alternative, non-toxic therapies represent a potential loss of billions of dollars to allopathic (drug) medicine and drug companies.

The Big Three have collectively engaged in a medical conspiracy for the better part of 70 years to influence legislative bodies on both the state and federal level to create regulations that promote the use of drug medicine while simultaneously creating restrictive, controlling mechanisms (licencing, government approval, etc) designed to limit and stifle the availability of non-drug, alternative modalities. The conspiracy to limit and eliminate competition from non-drug therapies began with the Flexner Report of 1910.

Abraham Flexner was engaged by John D. Rockefeller to run around the country and ‘evaluate’ the effectiveness of therapies taught in medical schools and other institutions of the healing arts. Rockefeller wanted to dominate control over petrolem, petrochemicals, and pharmaceuticals (which are derived from ‘coal tars’ or crude oil). He arranged for his company, Standard Oil of New Jersey to obtain a controlling interest in a huge German drug cartel called I. G. Farben. He pulled in his stronger competitors like Andrew Carnegie and JP Morgan as partners, while making other, less powerful players, stockholders in Standard Oil. Those who would not come into the fold “were crushed” according to a Rockefeller biographer (W. Hoffman, David: Report on a Rockefeller {New York:Lyle Stuart, Inc., 1971}page 24.)

The report Flexner submitted to The Carnegie Foundation was titled “Medical Education in the United States and Canada”. Page 22 of the report said: “the privileges of the medical school can no longer be open to casual strollers from the highway. It is necessary to install a doorkeeper who will, by critical scrutiny, ascertain the fitness of the applicant, a necessity suggested, in the first place, but consideration for the candidate, whose time and talents will serve him better in some other vocation, if he be unfit for this, and in the second, by consideration for a public entitled to protection from those whom the very boldness of modern medical strategy equips with instruments that, tremendously effective for good when rightly used, are all the more terrible for harm if ignorantly or incompetently employed”.

All too often, politicians are prepared to enact laws that rob citizens of yet another constitutional freedom under the banner of “public protection”. Needless to say, congress swallowed the recommendations of this report hook, line, and sinker. It was decided that the American Medical Association (AMA), would be the “doorkeeper”. The AMA was now empowered to certify or de-certify any medical school in the country on the grounds of whether that school met the AMA’s standards of “approved” medicine.

The AMA came into existence in 1847. It is a private organization of allopathic physicians which serves the interests of its members, especially when it comes to influencing favorable legislation. It functions in every sense of the word as a union, although its members wear white collars instead of blue. Giving the AMA the power over the certification of medical schools is the equivalent of giving the Teamsters Union the exclusive right to decide on the laws of interstate commerce and transportation. Is it any wonder that the total number of medical schools in the United States went from 160 in 1906 (before the Flexner Report) to 85 in 1920 and further down to 69 schools in 1944? A little like putting the fox in charge of the hen house, no?

Not surprisingly, Flexner ‘found’ that any discipline that didn’t use drugs to help cure the patient was tantamount to quackery and charlatanism. Medical schools that offered courses in bioelectric Medicine, Homeopathy or Eastern Medicine, for example, were told to either drop these courses from their curriculum or lose their accreditation and underwriting support. A few schools resisted for a time, but eventually most schools cooperated (or were closed down). A similar scenario was played out in Canada. It was attempted in England against Homeopathy, but it failed due to the personal intervention of the Royal Family who had received much relief and healing at the hands of Homeopathic healers in the 19th century. By the way, the AMA was found guilty of conspiracy against chiropractors in 1987 by a federal judge and fined a couple of million dollars. Here in America, a relentless campaign of misinformation, fraud, deception, and suppression of alternative therapies and healers has been in place for the better part of this century in order to keep highly effective alternative therapies from reaching any significant plateau of public awareness. Control is exerted through “news items” and propaganda from pro-establishment organizations like The American Medical Association, The American Cancer Society, The Diabetes Foundation, etc.; local medical boards; and government agencies like the FDA, The National Institute of Health (NIH), and The National Cancer Institute (NCI), The National Academy of Science, etc. with the full cooperation of main-stream media of course .

Over the past decades, hundreds of caring, concerned, and conscientious alternative healers have been jailed and abused like common criminals for the “crime” of curing people of life-threatening diseases in an “unapproved” manner by heavy-handed government agents who swoop down on clinics with drawn guns, flax jackets, and Gestapo manners. All the while, these same agents and agencies posture themselves before TV cameras and the public under the ludicrous pretense of being servants of the people and protectors of the common good.

The medico-drug cartel was summed up by J.W Hodge, M.D., of Niagara Falls,  N.Y., in these words:   ‘The medical monopoly or medical trust, euphemistically called the American Medical Association, is not merely the meanest monopoly ever organized, but the most arrogant, dangerous and despotic organization which ever managed a free people in this or any other age. Any and all methods of healing the sick by means of safe, simple and natural remedies are sure to be assailed and denounced by the arrogant leaders of the AMA doctors’ trust as fakes, frauds and humbugs Every practioner of the healing art who does not ally himself with the medical trust is denounced as a ‘dangerous quack’ and impostor by the predatory trust doctors. Every sanitarian who attempts to restore the sick to a state of health by natural means without resort to the knife or poisonous drugs, disease imparting serums, deadly toxins or vaccines, is at once pounced upon by these medical tyrants and fanatics, bitterly denounced, vilified and persecuted to the fullest extent.’

At long last, however, the public’s consciousness seems to have finally reached a critical mass and is now beginning to seriously question the efficacy and appropriateness of using orthodox therapies and allopathic medicine in general. Thank God. It’s been too long overdue.

Understanding the Nature of Ill Health and Disease

The entire approach and foundation of Orthodox Medicine is based on Luis Pasteur’s Germ Theory, a flawed concept. A disease condition is viewed by the orthodoxy as an isolated event, confined to the area in which it manifests itself (E.g. an ear infection, eye infection, gum infection, lung cancer, skin cancer, etc. ). Under this theory, for unknown reasons, microbes or tumors indiscriminately grow in the patient and must be cut (surgery), burned (radiation), or poisoned (drugs) out of the body. In the orthodox model, the solution is sought through mechanical and chemical means. Seeking to understand WHY the infection or disease condition appeared in the first place,  is not seriously explored. The quick fix with a prescription for drugs to smother the symptoms is the typical orthodox ‘answer’.

A contemporary of Pasteur, Antoine Bechamp, had a different opinion as to why disease conditions ‘took hold’. Bechamp felt that the ENVIRONMENT, or the ECOLOGY of the blood played the critical role in deciding whether disease conditions would manifest or not.

Alternative medicine explores the stressors (environmental, biological, chemical, psychological, and emotional) in a patient’s life that cause a weakening of a particular energy field; which in turn allows the manifestation of a disease condition in a weakened area. In order to maintain a state of health, all energy systems within the body need to exist in a state of balance or equilibrium. Imbalance leads to conditions of discomfort (dis-ease) which eventually spirals into ill health if not corrected. The Chinese and Indians (Ayurvedic medicine) had worked all of this out thousands of years ago.

Orthodox or Allopathic Medicine utilizes poisonous substances (drugs) in non-lethal dosages in order to suppress symptoms in an affected area. This approach neither addresses the cause of the disease condition, nor is it responsible for healing the patient. Rather, the use of drugs often will temporarily mask the outer manifestations of the malady, while at the same time, drive the disease deeper into the body…only to reappear at a later date, as a more serious, and chronic health threat. One of the many flaws of the orthodox approach is that it focuses on the disease condition itself, rather than the patient. The term wholistic (or holistic) originally sprang up to distinguish those physicians whose diagnostic gestalt considers all of the physical, emotional, and spiritual energies interacting with the patient.

Do not assume that the only difference between allopathic and alternative medicine, however, is an honest difference of opinion in the philosophies and views on the origin of disease states. Hardly!. There is, in truth,  a concerted, organized agenda -concocted, planned, and contrived by the international pharmaceutical companies and organized medicine to suppress any and every alternative, non-drug therapy that WORKS. Why?

Because they want people to keep on coming back for more treatments and more drugs.

A cured patient is a lost source of income. A sick patient who is marginally “improved” is a manageable patient.

Managing patients means routine office visits and renewing of drug prescriptions. Therefore, a manageable patient is a continuing source of income; a cash cow if you will. Multiply that by a few hundred million people and you get an idea why this deceit is being put upon you. The profits from the so called “health-care” industry are staggering!

The thrust of the orthodox pharmaceutical agenda is to provide temporary relief, while never addressing the cause of the disease condition. This agenda insures regular visits to the doctor’s office and requires the patient to routinely return to the pharmacy to refill his prescriptions. This is what the game is all about folks, plain and simple. Deny it or Deal with it,…Stick with it or Get Out of it! … your choice.

Natural Healing

The patient’s immune system and the immune system alone is responsible for healing and recovery from ill health. The use of drugs and vaccines represents an assault on the immune system. In some cases, the use of a particular drug might be a wise choice to speed healing and recovery for the patient, but the use of natural, orthomolecular therapies and substances (substances normally found in Nature) that can more effectively address the cause of the disease should be considered first because natural substances work in harmony with Nature. They aid and stimulate the body to truly cure itself, without the terrible millstone of drug side-effects.

The human body is predisposed to heal itself and to exist as a healthy, thriving organism. We inhibit that process by ingesting unhealthy foods, fouling our inner environment with toxins, and relying upon poisonous substances to treat disease conditions.

Unlike ‘miracle drugs’ and other ‘drug breakthroughs’, you will never see or hear anything from mainstream media about most of the therapies described here. The Big Three see to that, but you can still glean this information from the alternative health press, books, web sites, and at health expos. Some of these alternative therapies require high-tech equipment and specialized knowledge, but many, many others can be done at home without third party intervention or supervision. It’s amazing, but true, that many of the most effective healing therapies (even for grave, life-threatening disease conditions) are simple things that you can do for yourself at home. You simply have to educate yourself and take responsibility for your own health.

The following is a brief overview of some alternative therapies that have demonstrated themselves to be effective and readily obtainable, usually at a low to modest cost. This list is far from complete. As time permits, the description and scope of these and other therapies will be added to, and expanded upon.

Oxydative Therapies

Oxygen therapies encompass more than the application of regular oxygen (O2), although regular oxygen can speed and assist healing; especially when used in higher-than-normal concentrations and under pressure, such as used in Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has been traditionally used for rapid detoxification in acute situations, but it also has shown to be extremely efficacious for new stroke victims. It has been found that almost all of the usual conditions (paralysis, slurred/ no speech, etc.) associated with a stroke can be minimized or eliminated entirely by subjecting the patient to a hyperbaric oxygen treatment within the first 36 hours of a stroke. The quicker the patient can be treated from the onset of the stroke, the better the results. Even cases started a few days or even weeks after a stoke have shown remarkable results. HBOT has also proven helpful in cases involving other forms of  brain damage as well.

Singlet Oxygen Therapies

Oxygen atoms can be configured into certain quasi-stable arrangements that will allow a single oxygen atom to be released. This atom is called a singlet oxygen (O1) . For therapeutic purposes, single atoms of oxygen can be released from hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which breaks down to water (H2O) and a singlet oxygen (O1), and also from ozone (O3), which reduces to oxygen (O2) and a singlet oxygen . When a singlet oxygen atom is released within the body, it is highly reactive and will oxidize (reduce or break down) the molecular structure of undesirable and harmful organisms (bacteria, foreign proteins, etc.) and diseased tissue (E.g. cancer cells). This high-energy form of oxygen (O1) possesses a greatly enhanced healing capacity than that exhibited by regular oxygen (O2).

Hydrogen Peroxide

A bottle of 3½ % Hydrogen Peroxide is available in any pharmacy for under a dollar and can be used daily to keep the mouth and gums germ-free (always use full strength and try to retain in the mouth as long as possible). It should also be conscientiously applied to disinfect any type of oral infection, cut, sore, or wound that one may encounter. For external use, the drug store variety of hydrogen peroxide is OK, but it does have some low levels of contaminants in it. For internal use, it’s wiser to use Food-grade hydrogen peroxide. You can make your own 3½ % hydrogen peroxide by diluting 35% food-grade hydrogen peroxide by a ratio of 10:1 with distilled water.  However, that should not stop you from using pharmacy-grade hydrogen peroxide externally- if you are in normal health. People trying to recover from serious diseases such as AIDS or cancer need to be more concerned about ingesting contaminants. 35% Food-Grade Hydrogen Peroxide is available at many farm supply outlets and by mail order. Since it’s more concentrated, 35% hydrogen peroxide can produce spectacular results when intelligently applied. Hydrogen peroxide can also be applied either internally as injections (directly into a cancerous tumor for example) or intravenously into the blood stream. If properly diluted, hydrogen peroxide can also be ingested.

Medical Cartel Sponsored ‘Studies’
Of course, you have to know what you’re doing. At higher concentrations, H2O2 is powerful and can burn tissue, but look to the alternative health press for information from practitioners who are actually using this therapy. Don’t expect on an honest accessment from the allopathic crowd. Like most cheap, unpatentable natural solutions, the pharmaceutical/organized medicine cartel will try to frieghten you off from using these therapies with scares stories of exaggerated dangers, ommision of relevant data, and insertion of misleading statements.

For example, they will point to rat studies that show increassed stomach cancers from ingesting H2O2. By promoting this ‘study’, the cartel wants you to draw the conclusion that you will get stomach cancer from injesting hydrogen perozide without actually saying it. No additional details such as the concentration of the peroxide administered, frequency of dosage, quantity given vis a vis body weight etc., are provided about the ‘study’ in these press reports-only the bottom line conclusion:.

Of course, most knowledgeable researchers know that rat studies don’t equate to people studies. Rat studies, in fact,  have an extremely limited range of applicability for purposes of human extrapolation. In addition,  most studies are funded by pharmaceuticals or government agencies and they have an agenda that has nothing to do with sincere scientific inquiry. Ralph Moss and Linus Pauling are two individuals who come to mind who looked at different cartel sponsored ‘studies’ and clearly demonstrated that the Big Boys can and will skew a ‘study’ in any direction they wish it to go. Scientific honesty among cartel sponsored investigative groups is a myth. All medical schools, teaching universities, and government health organizations such as the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute, National Academy of Science, etc., etc. are all under the cartel’s propaganda umbrella.

Ozone
Ozone (O3) is composed of three atoms of oxygen lightly bound together. One of those atoms can easily break away and form regular oxygen (O2) and a singlet oxygen atom (O1). Through oxidation, the singlet oxygen atom is capable of producing amazing healing results. Ozone can be produced with a hot or “cold” spark, with ultraviolet light, or with a method invented by Nikola Tesla called cold plasma ozone production. The cold plasma method produces much larger quantities of ozone and is the preferred means of production for therapeutic purposes. Larger, cold plasma ozone machines can only be legally purchased outside of the United States, but there are underground ‘suitcase’ size units being manufactured clandestinely in the U.S.. Smaller cold plasma ozone generators, however, are legally available in the U.S.as water pruifiers (send e-mail <Ken Adachi, Editor> for more info).

All cold plasma ozone generators can easily produce high quality Ozonated Water, which can be ingested as often as desired. The effects of drinking ozonated water on a regular basis can be very healthful. People with serious disease conditions will notice more-pronounced effects in a shorter space of time than those who are in good health, but the benefits of ozonated water are realized by all who use it, whether you have a serious health concern or not. The ozone from the ozonated water passes into the bloodstream via the stomach/small intestines and provides the benefits of ozone without the need for expensive equipment. Some people notice a very slight sensation of light headedness the first time they drink ozone water. It’s temporary and usually only happens the first time- if at all. The reaction is due to slightly more oxygen reaching the brain than normal. Ingested daily, ozone water will progressively send ozone into deeper tissues of the body, oxidizing non organic drug residues and hidden, dormant pathogens. You might be surprised to learn that the virus that gave you chicken pox as a child or herpes as a young adult is still hidden deep within the body such as in the nerve ganglion at the base of the spine. Your immune system developed antibodies which normally hold these residual bugs in check, but that doesn’t mean that the bugs are gone, as any person who suffers recurrent bouts of herpes will attest. But if you hit them long enough and hard enough with ozone (or certain other alternative therapies), they will be gone-for good.

Another useful product that can be applied topically is called Ozonated Olive Oil. It is made by bubbling ozone through olive oil for a considerable period of time (weeks) until the olive oil eventually becomes saturated with the ozone molecules and becomes much thicker. Afterwards, the product can be applied as a balm to infected areas and will often greatly promote and/or speed healing.

Methods of Ozone Application
Medically, ozone can be applied in different ways. One of the oldest methods, used in Germany for over 60 years, is called Autohemotherapy. This technique involves removeing about a pint of blood, ozonating it, and return it intravenously to the patient. It works, but it’s rather limited in the amount of ozone applied.

Another method has the patient hooked up to a dialysis type machine with blood coming out one arm, going through the machine for ozonation, and returned via tubes hooked up to the other arm. You get a lot more ozone into the body with this technique, but the pumping mechnaisms used to push the blood around can damage the membranes of the red blood cells somewhat.

A third technique is called Ozone Injection. Like its name implies, the ozone is carefully and slowly injected into the patient. Ozone, remember, is composed of oxygen atoms. Oxygen dissolves into the blood; it does not form bubbles in the bloodstream like air, which is composed of oxygen and 80% nitrogen. Many ozone specialist prefer this later method, but each of these ozone techniques have their advocates.

Alkalizing pH Therapy

Vernon Johnston was given the typical death sentence for a rapidly advancing prostate cancer that had begun to metastacize to his bones (which the orthodox cancer doctors told him was in stage IV). He ordered some Cesium alkalating mixture over the internet designed to increase pH, but it didn’t arrive in time, so logic told him that Baking Soda should also work for alkalizing his pH. He decided to use black strap molasses as a “carrier” to get it pulled into the cancer cells. He’s still alive and cancer free five years later after his 2008 “Dance with Cancer.”

Bioelectro Medicine

There are a number of devices that use specialized electric fields to alter the function or condition of targeted tissue, organisms, or cells within the body. These electric fields can be programmed to promote the healing of healthy tissue or inhibit the growth of undesired organisms. Where there are electric fields , there are also magnetic fields, usually rotated at 90 degress to each other. The interplay of the electric and magnetic fields play a role in this therapy, but the frequency, the shape of the wave, the duration and polarity of the pulse, etc., all play into the mix and can make the difference between success or failure depending on the care and attention given to these parameters.

This is not necessarily a new technology. At the turn of the 19th century, Nikola Tesla patented many Electro-inventions that demonstrated incredible health-promoting attributes; some of them based on the use of his high frequency, high voltage DC pulse generator circuits which produced a new ether-derived form of energy called Radiant Energy.  Tesla had even patented a highly efficient cold plasma ozone generator by 1893.

Dr. Royal Rife
In the late 20’s and early 1930’s, Dr. Royal Raymond Rife from San Diego, California, developed a high powered microscope which he used in conjunction with a frequency generator. Using special UV light, Rife’s mircroscope was capable of 60,000x magnification! This degree of magnification allowed him to observe LIVE virus and bacteria organisms while he applied the MOR (Mortal Oscillatory Resonance) frequency from his frequency generator via plasma tube radiation of the energy. He was able to destroy all manner of disease organisms (including cancer related organisms) by merely ‘tuning’ the generator to the correct resonant frequency of these organisms and applying the oscillating electric fields via the plasma driven, “Beam Ray Tube”. Everything in the universe, living or dead, and its own resonant frequency.  If you apply this exact resonant frequency to the object or organism, it will begin vibrating until it literally shatters itself. You’ve all seen the wine glass and the opera singer demonstration. Same deal for microbes.

60,000x magnifications is an unheard of degree of magnification in a light microscope, even by today’s technical standards. Today’s electron microscope can deliver high magnification, but it can only view DEAD organisms. The ability to view micro organims in a LIVING state is of great importance to diagnostic and therapeutic goals. This is an extremely important point to understand.

Rife’s microscope played no role in the actual destruction of the pathogenic organisms, but it allowed him to view the effects of the electric fields from the Beam Ray Tube upon the organism itself. As Rife adjusted and tuned his frequency generator to the correct frequency, he was able to observe the disintegration of the bacteria, parasite, or virii under the influence of the resonant electro-magnetic fields exerted by the Beam Ray Tube.

At first, Rife’s enormous accomplishments were ballyhooed in the press. He was feted and hosted by the local medical elites of the day who were hoping to climb onto the Glory Bandwagon with him and get their mug published in the newspaper as a supporter and cohort of the “man who could finally end cancer”. But the Big Boys finally caught up with him. I’m referring to the string pullers in organized medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. Needless to say, once word of Rife’s success began to spread too wide, he was quickly ‘neutralized’ by organized medicine and demoralized into obscurity (unending court litigation, charges of quakery, intimidation of financial supporters, the burning down of laboratories, etc…the “usual’ routine). His principle persecutor was the head of the American Medical Association and chief editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association. His name was Dr. Morris Fishbein and he never treated a patient in his life. He was motivated more by an unmitigated lust for greed and power, and less by a desire to save lives. Failing to convince Rife to sell him the exclusive rights to his technique and therapy, Fishbein set out to crush Rife with a vengence. The outrageous injustices against Rife by Fishbein and the medical establishment are explained in great depth in a book by Barry Lynes called The Cancer Cure That Worked.

He will explain to you exactly how Rife achieved his amazing results and how YOU can learn how to apply Rife’s hard earned technology yourself. Geroges Lakhovsky
Another brilliant observer and thinker was the Russian-born engineer, Georges Lakhovsky.  Lakhovsky theorized that the genetic filaments stands within the nucleus of a living cell acted as a coil and exhibited all the properties properties required of an oscillator; namely: inductance, capacitance, and resistance. Lakhovsky postulated that all living cells, including disease organisms, could act as both an emitter and receiver of very high frequency oscillations.

According to his theory, a state of health or disease was dependent on whether the oscillations from healthy cells were maintained (a state of equilibrium) or were overtaken by the oscillations of disease-causing cells (disequilibrium). He found that he could boost the oscillatory level of weakened cells and overcome disease by attaching a simple coil-shaped ‘antennae’ to the affected area and leaving it in place. Lakhovsky referred to these antennae as oscillating circuits and they were worn by people as collars, belts, or bracelets. He claimed that his ‘antennae’ captured and focused sympathetic waves from the cosmos (cosmic waves) which resonated with harmonics of the fundamental frequency at which the weakened cell oscillated.

Whenever additional oscillating energy (from cosmic waves), of the same frequency or harmonics of that frequency, are introduced into an oscillating circuit (the nucleus of the cell), the oscillations within that cell will be strengthened through a phenomena of physics called resonance. According to Lakhovsky, the now-strengthened oscillations emanating from the formerly weakened human cell could now overtake the oscillations of the disease-causing organisms and cause them to diminish in strength and subsequently die off.

Lakhovsky conducted an experiment with plants in 1924 to establish the validity of his theory. He inoculated ten potted geranium plants with a plant disease that causes cancerous tumors. Coiled around the stem of one of the geraniums, he affixed an open ended coil of thick copper wire about 30 cm in diameter. It was held in place by an ebonite stake stuck into the pot. While the other nine inoculated geraniums quickly succumbed to the cancerous disease, the one geranium with the attached coil (the ‘antennae) sloughed off the cancerous growth and thrived into a robust and healthy plant. Lakhovsky had similar success when these antennae coils (the ‘oscillating circuits ‘ mentioned above) were used with people and animals. He later expanded his research with the development of the Multi-Wave Oscillator (explained below).

Lakhovsky’s Multi-Wave Oscillator (MWO)

Geroges Lakhovsky published an extremely important book into French, German, Italian, and Spanish in the 1920’s called The Secret of Life. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available in English until September, 1939-at the very outbreak of World War II. Occupied with the emerging drama of World War II, the book went unnoticed and unreviewed. Thanks to Dr Bob Beck, however, many researchers are today re-discovering Lakhovsky’s astounding Multi-Wave Oscillator. This instrument manufactures a broad range of high frequency pulsed signals that radiate energy into patient via two resonators: one resonator acting as a transmitter and the other as a receiver. The patient sits on a wooden stool in between the two resonators and is exposed to these energies for about 15 minutes. These energies increase the resonance of healthy cells and create disequilibrium in disease organisms. His clinical results created a lot of excitement in Europe where his reputaion quickly spread. Bob Beck Rescues Lakhovsky’s MWO from Obscurity
In the early 60’s, Dr Bob Beck found an original Lakhovsky Multi-Wave Oscillator in the basement of a well known southern California hospital. He took it apart and described exactly how it was built in a series of articles published by Borderlands in 1963. After Beck’s articles were published, a number of builders began to assemble MWO’s and the word started to spread.

Two MWO builders who lived on the west coast, using the information contained in Beck articles, began making and selling a lot of Multi Wave Oscillators. Apparently they worked fairly well because the FDA got word of the MWO’s growing popularity and told Beck to come to Washington. Beck and the two builders were told to lay off  promoting the MWO and stop building them. They were told in no uncertain terms to cease and desist immediately …or else.

Beck and one of the MWO builders, Ed Skillings, complied, but the second builder, Ralph Bergstresser, was determined to keep going, so he actually formed a church dedicated to the worship of the MWO. Yes, you read that correctly. And, for a couple of years at least, his ‘parishioners’ were able to come to church, sit around the MWO-perched high atop an altar, with resonator antennas glowing – and received the ‘blessed waves’ from the Sacred Oscillator. It helped a lot of church goers, until the ‘pastor’ was finally thrown into the slammer by the Feds and had his modern version of the Ark of the Covenant hauled away. He got out after a couple of years, but still went on building MWO’s anyway, distributing them through underground sources. Many present day owners of  properly working MWO’s are either using units built by or copies of the “pastor’s” work (now why isn’t there an Oscar category reserved for a guy like that?).

Blood-Electrification

In recent years, different electro-medicine units  have been promoted at health expos and through magazine articles, interviews, books, etc.. One of the more interesting devices is the blood electrifier of Dr Bob Beck. I’ve seen laboratory reports and Institutional Review Board studies that seem to clearly support claims made by Dr BobBeck that his blood electrification device has caused ‘complete spontaneous remission’ in literally thousands of AIDS patients, cancer patients, and chronic fatigue sufferers among others. Dr Beck discovered the possibilities offered by blood electrification after reading a short article in 1991 in a journal called Science News.

The Discovery
In the Fall of 1990,  two researchers,  Drs William Lyman and Steven Kaali, working at Albert Einstein Medical College in New York City made an important discovery. They found that they could inactivate the HIV virus by applying a low voltage direct current electrical potential with an extremely small current flow to AIDS infected blood in a test tube. Initially, they discovered this in the lab by inserting two platinum electrodes into a glass tube filled with HIV-1 (type 1) infected blood. They applied a direct current to the electrodes and found that a current flow in the range of  50-100 microamperes (uA) produced the most effective results. Practically all of the HIV viral particles were adversely affected while normal blood cells remained unharmed.  The viral particles were not directly destroyed by the electric current, but rather the outer protein coating of the virus was affected in such a way as to prevent the virus from producing reverse transcriptase, a necessary enzyme needed by the virus to invade human cells. Reverse transcriptase allows the virus to enter a human T cell line (called CEM-SS) and commandeer the DNA reproduction machinery. After using the host cell to reproduce itself into thousands of new virii, the swollen host cell (now called syncytia or giant cell) will burst and spew the contents into the bloodstream or lymph system. This is how the virus spreads, but lacking reverse transcriptase, the HIV virus can’t invade the host cell and it becomes vulnerable to destruction by the body’s immune system. Getting the Word Out?
A brief announcement of this discovery appeared in The Houston Post  (Mar 20, 1991), then in Science News (Mar. 30, 1991 pg. 207) and later in  Longevity magazine: (Dec.1992 pg. 14). Following their work in the Fall of 1990, Kaali and Lyman presented their findings at the First International Symposium on Combination Therapies (an AIDS conference) in Washington DC on March 14th, 1991. Kaali outlined two methods for treating an AIDS patient with this new therapy: One method involved removing a small amount of blood, electrifying it and then returning it to the patient’s body. The second method involved sewing a miniature electrifying power supply along with two tiny electrodes directly into the lumen of an artery. For long term treatment, the mini electrifying unit needed to be removed and relocated to a new artery site after 30-45 days since scar tissue and calcification forming around the implant unit would lead to artery blockage. Kaali (along with co-inventorPeter Schwolsky) filed for a patent on this implantable electrifying device on Nov 16, 1990 and nine months later was granted patent #5,139,684  on August 18, 1992. It’s interesting to note two things here:
1. In order to obtain a patent from the United States Patent Office, Kaali and Schwolsky had to prove that the device works as claimed. Lacking solid proof, patents are simply not granted.
2. Very often it takes years to obtain a patent, yet this patent was granted in only nine months; a further indication to me of the strength their proven claims

It’s also interesting to note that other than the 3 publications mentioned above and the March ’91 AIDS conference, nothing again appeared in print, radio, or TV about this important discovery as a potential treatment and cure for AIDS from Kaali and company. Most knowledgeable observers feel that Kaali and Lyman’s discovery was intentionally suppressed following the March ’91 AIDS conference presentation. If AIDS research was on the level and not the sham that it actually is, this should have made front page news around the world. By the way, in July (2000), a woman with Mycoplsma Incognitus (Gulf War Illness) E mailed me and told me (after reading this story) that she had called Albert Einstein College and spoke directly with Dr William Lyman, one of the co-discoverers of blood electrification. She wanted to know how effective he thought blood electrifiation would work against mycoplasma. Lyman  told her that he had no idea what she was talking about. He denied knowing anything about blood electrifiction and couldn’t give her any information about it at all. Such is the vice grip power of the medical cartel.

Enter Dr Bob Beck
A man named Professor Walter Schnitder drew Dr Robert C. Beck‘s attention to the above mentioned item in Science News. Beck looked up the patent and decided to try and duplicate the therapy, but he wanted to do it non-invasively; that is by applying the electric current from outside the body. Now if you apply a direct current (DC) potential to the skin, you’re going to get an electrolysis effect and that can cause problems, so Beck designed a circuit that varied the voltage with an alternating current (AC) at a very low frequency and avoided the electrolysis problem. The waveform that Beck chose is not the typical sine wave seen in AC household outlets, but rather is a bi-phasic square wave. Square waves generate a large number of harmonics. Harmonics are frequency multibles of the original frequency. For example, a 4 Hertz (hz) square wave can produce harmonics (with the right equipment) of 8 hz, 16 hz, 32 hz, etc. right up into the radio frequency range. Beck finally settled on 3.92 hz as the ideal base frequency and assembled a schematic of the simple square wave oscillator , including a complete parts list. He used short, one inch lengths of  stainless steel welding rods with attached wires for electrodes and started to experiment on himself.

Gradually, he began feeling stronger, had more energy and started losing his excessive weight (he was over 300 lbs at the time). After a 7 or 8months, his weight was down to 150 lbs and he felt better than ever. He went on the lecture circuit, talked for free, and gave the schematic and related construction/protocol information away without charge. AIDS patients, particularly, experienced dramatic reversals of their deteriorating conditons using the blood electrifier, but the unit seemed to help many other conditions as well, whether autoimmune, viral, or bacterial in origin. Pulsed, Electro-Magnetic Therapy

Pulsed- low, mid, and high frequency AC signals, when applied to the body, can produce therapeutic electric/ magnetic fields. Properly configured, they can also produce scalar waves. The special attributes of scalar waves were first described mathematically by James Clerk Maxwell in 1873, and later by Nikola Tesla. A certain type of pulsed electro-magnetic field, with their attendant scalar waves, seems to stimulate re-growth and regeneration in injured tissue. Covalent waves (conventional sine waves) do not have the same effect. Dr Robert O. Becker, M.D., discusses this phenomena in two of his recent books that deal with electro-medicine: The Body Electric (1985) and Cross Currents (1990).

Nutritional Therapies

Introduction

“You are what you eat! “. Did your mother ever tell you that? Well, mine did, but I didn’t appreciate the wisdom of those words until I approached middle age. Today, I realize that the biggest impediment to enjoying a truly robust state of health is the Standard American Diet (aptly abbreviated, SAD). While we could spend a lot of time on details, a short version of the SAD diet can be summarized as follows: Refined and processed foods can ruin your health and lower your immunity, setting you up for disease conditions.

In order to obtain a higher level of immunity and improved health, it’s necessary to stop eating processed, refined foods and start eating whole, unprocessed raw-as-possible vegetables, beans, grains, nuts, sea plants (seaweed), a small amount of fish life if you want animal protein, and lots of pure, clean water.

Change Gradually
If you try to change everything about your diet all at once, you won’t stick with it. Go slow. Change one item at a time and get accustomed to the healthier alternative before tackling another.

Start with soft drinks (or soda). All soft drinks are simply ruinous to your health. Coke, 7-Up, Pepsi, Sprite, Dr Pepper, etc. It’s ALL GARBAGE and it’s RUINING YOUR HEALTH. Read the ingredients on the side of a can of soda. It will usually list 17-24 grams of sugar. That’s the equivalent of 6-10 teaspoons of sugar with each and every 12 oz can that you’re guzzling down. When you ingest refined sugar, you lower your body’s immunity for FOUR HOURS. If you’re drinking soft drinks here and there throughout the day, then you’re keeping your immunity suppressed all day long. People with suppressed immunity seem to easily pick up every bug that’s going around. Have you ever noticed that little connection in people (especially teenagers) who drink sodas all day long?

Another problem with soft drinks is the tremendous amount of PHOSPHOROUS that’s contained in them. Large amounts of phosphorous are bad news for the body because they combine with other minerals (like Calcium) and tie them up for eventual excretion. Now calcium is a mineral that your body DOES NEED in large amounts in your bloodstream for daily use. If your soft drink is yanking the calcium out of your blood stream, where does the body get the calcium it needs for everyday  jobs? Why,  it gets it from your teeth and bones!

Women who are worried about osteoporosis would be way ahead of the game by avoiding soft drinks (and excess animal protein), instead of going broke buying calcium supplements at the health food store (which are mostly exiting out the other end anyway).

Replace the soft drinks with WATER. It usually takes a couple of days to break a sugar addiction (oh, you never thought of YOU as being addicted to anything? Well, answer me this: Do you have a CRAVING for soft drinks when you don’t have them? If you do, then you are definitely  addicted). Satisfy your desire for sugar by eating sweet fruit (like banannas) during the adjustment period. Eventually you will come to love drinking water, especially ozonated water. . The more you drink, the better you’ll feel. Try it.

The Budwig Diet

Germany’s 90 year old Dr Joanna Budwig, nominated 6 times for the Nobel Prize, has made the most remarkable discovery of them all! After 30 years of research, she has found that 2 simple food items: 1. Flax Seed Oil (cold-pressed, unprocessed) and 2. Low Fat Cottage Cheese will CURE or prevent many forms of cancers and a long list of other degenerative disease including cardiovascular diseases and skin diseases! Unprocessed flax seed oil provides 2 essential fatty acids seriously deficient in the standard American diet: Linolenic and Linoleic acids. These two unsaturated fatty acids have 3 high-energy double bonds (pi-electrons) in their outer electron shells. A 2001 news item posted on the Internet from Duke University caught my attention (and ire) claiming to be hot on the  trail of a ‘new’ discovery concerning the anticancer benefits of flax seed oil. I contacted the editor and set him straight on a few historical facts. To recover from cancer, the Budwig Diet needs to be taken in conjunction with a strict, health-promoting diet free of processed, devitalized foods (see the Gerson Therapy below).

Urine Therapy

In 1945, John W. Armstrong published a book called The Water of Life, A Treatise on Urine Therapy. The book explored the difficult-to-accept idea that drinking one’s own urine will promote healing and restore health to those afflicted with grave illnesses. Martha Christy also published a book on this topic titled Your Own Perfect Medicine in the late 1980’s. I highly recommend reading both of them. Christy’s approach is more technical and includes injections of prepared urine tissue and taking urine drops under the tongue.

Armstong’s approach is simpler: To resolve life-threatening disease conditions, drink every drop of your own urine and neither eat nor drink anything else until you are completely well!! In his book, Armstong provides the history of many, many patients with a variety of serious conditions (cancers, massive infections, heart conditions, etc.) who were frequently near The End. In some cases, the patient was so gravely disabled, that he couldn’t produce any urine of his own. In those cases, Armstong would ‘jump start’ the patient with his own urine. Afterwards, the patient was able to produce a small amount of his own. With each subsequent ingestion of urine, the patient would gain in both strength and relief from pain. For the most serious cases, patients drank nothing but their own urine for periods of 90, 120, 150 days! Some, even longer. Armstrong points out that rubbing the body with old urine (for a substantial period of time, E.g.1-2 hours) is a necessary adjunct treatment to ingestion in very serious cases. In less severe cases, rubbing with old urine will clear up most skin conditions and produce a smooth, blemish-free skin if applied regularly (ladies, take note). Why this works is explained at length in the books, but briefly the

1. replenishment of vital tissues lost to the ill patient through the urine and the

2. reingestion, refinement, and re-filtering of antibodies and other immune enhancing substances allows the body to exclusively concentrate on destroying, unclogging, and removing the offending organisms and diseased tissue, without the burdens of routine work such as digestion and normal detoxification

Of course, we normally think of both urine and stool elimination as waste, but urine, unlike feces, is totally sterile. Mind you, it’s the filtrate of your own blood. Many people in normal health drink urine daily in order to keep their health and maintain physical beauty. Get the books and read them. In the event of survival difficulties, this simple technique can save your life.

Beyond the Urine Therapy Story, I knew I had discovered a trusted and kindred spirit when Armstong began the book’s Introduction with the following words: “Owing to the increasing part played by vested interests in many branches of human endeavor, not least in the very lucrative providing of remedies for disease, intelligent members of the public, are growing more and more distrustful of orthodox medical methods.”

He continued the book’s Introduction by asking why, after more than 50 years (as of 1945), can orthodox cancer researchers only offer the knife, radium, or X-rays to address this malignancy after so much time, money, and effort has been expended to discover its cause and cure? The author further inquires, why, after so many letters from doctors testifying to the highly unsatisfactory results of radium treatment (repeatedly published in the British Medical Journal), did the Cancer Ring ( the Cancer Establishment or Cancer Industry as we would refer to it today) continue to tout radium as the “best” therapy? Finally, why, did the Cancer Research Ring, who “still asks the public to donate large sums of money towards the discovery of a cure”, continuously discount and belittle effective treatments for cancer, when those therapies were proposed by practitioners of non-orthodox medicine?

58 years later, nothing much has changed when it comes to the politics of Big Medicine. Today, we know the answers to John Armstrong’s questions. Only the most naive and uninformed among us continue to believe the party line spouted by the pharmaceutical/medical establishment and their propaganda flunkies such as the The American Cancer Society: “The Cure for Cancer is just around the Corner”; “Get a Checkup and Write a Check”; “The Race for The Cure”; ” Marathon to Beat  Breast Cancer”; etc. It’s pure rot: nothing but lies to bilk the trusting and believing public out of their money and fend the appearace of doing honest research. The promoters and planners of these publicity/ fund raising events deserve the greatest possible condemnation for their deceit.

THE so-called “Babalon Working” conducted by John Whiteside Parsons and L. Ron Hubbard between January 4 and March 4, 1946, has been the object of much speculation, mythologizing and wonder.

This speculation is due in part to the involvement of two charismatic and brilliant Bohemians of that period. Parsons (1914-1952) was a major force in the early development of solid fuel booster rockets, for which work the International Astronomical Union eventually named a Lunar Crater in his memory. He was an O.T.O. member from 1941, and served for a short period as Master of Agape Lodge O.T.O. in the 1940s. He died under mysterious circumstances in an explosion in 1952.

The other participant, pulp fiction author La Fayette Ron Hubbard (1911-1986), eventually founded the Church of Scientology and has been the center of stormy controversy in the decades since.

Both men were students of magick, especially the sexual magick of Aleister Crowley.

According to Bent Corydon, Hubbard once confided in his son, Ron Jr.,

“Secrets, techniques and powers I alone have refined, improved on, applied my engineering principles to. Science and logic. THE keys! My keys to the doorway of the Magick; my magick! THE power! NOT Scientology power! MY power! The real powers of Solomon…”

Hubbard Sr. made clear he was talking about the sex magick central to the OTO system, but with a unique twist:

“Sex by will, Love by will – no caring and no sharing – no feelings… Sex is the route to power. Scarlet women! They are the secret to the doorway. Use and consume. Feast. Drink the power through them. Waste and discard them.” 2

The idealist Jack Parsons could hardly have understood what sort of man he was dealing with here; he wrote Crowley in February, 1946:

“About three months ago I met Ron… He is a gentleman… He moved in with me about two months ago, and although Maggy and I are still friendly, she has transferred her sexual affections to Ron.” 3

While Parsons was convinced that Hubbard, as he wrote Crowley, “…is in complete accord with our own principles” 4 and proceeded to enter into a joint financial venture with the future Father of Scientology, Crowley was writing his eventual successor as O.T.O. Grand Master, Karl Germer,

“From our brother’s account he has given away both his girl and his money – apparently it’s the ordinary confidence trick.” 5

Parson’s friend Alva Rogers, who witnessed these events as they unfolded, described Hubbard’s role in this way:

“Ron was a persuasive and unscrupulous charmer, not only in social groups, but with the ladies. He was so persuasive and charmingly unscrupulous that within a matter of a few weeks he brought the entire house of Parsons down around poor Jack’s ears. He did this by the simple expedient of taking over Jack’s girl for extended periods of time.” 6

It was against this background that Parsons and Hubbard embarked upon “The Babalon Working” – an elaborate sexual magick experiment designed to bring Babalon into physical manifestation.

The whole concept of the “Magical Child” has several distinct interpretations.

In the more orthodox and traditional view, sex magick is employed to Manifest, by an act of Pure Will, a magical being the material basis of which are the sexual fluids themselves. A more literal interpretation holds that magical ritual such as “The Star Sapphire” will produce a “Moon Child” – that is, a living child who serves as host to a super-being, that is, the child is an “avatar” in Eastern terms, or an Incarnation of the Divine in Western thought.

Yet a third interpretation is that sex magick is, simply, the “Yoga of Sex” and the “Magical Child” is the Transformed Sex Magician Himself!

Hubbard and Parsons were ostensibly aiming at the second, literal interpretation; to manifest a Scarlet Woman willing to conceive a child who would embody the transformative goddess-being Babalon.

Crowley wrote Germer:

“Apparently Parsons or Hubbard or somebody is producing a moonchild. I get fairly frantic when I contemplate the idiocy of these louts.” 7

The reaction was certainly excessive.

Crowley’s successor as Grand Master of the O.T.O. in the 1980s, Hymenaeus Beta, noted that an adequate chronicle of Parsons’,

“now – famous ‘Babalon Working’ of 1946 EV has yet to be published… Most published accounts focus on his friendship and falling-out with Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard without appraising the larger issues of what was actually being attempted, and why.” 8

Certainly, Parsons’ own description of the Working is based in the fundamentals of Ceremonial and Sexual Magick.

In “The Book of Babalon – January 4 – March 4, 1946 EV” Parsons outlines the entire experiment, including the reasons for it:

“The present age is under the influence of the force called, in magical terminology, Horus. This force relates to fire, Mars, and the Sun, that is, to power, violence and energy…

“This force is completely blind, depending upon the men and women in whom it manifests and who guide it…

“The catastrophic trend is due to our lack of understanding of our own natures. The hidden lusts, fears, and hatreds resulting from the warping of the love urge, which underlie the natures of all Western peoples, have taken a homicidal and suicidal direction.

“This impasse is broken by the incarnation of another sort of force, called BABALON. The nature of this force relates to love, understanding, and dionysian freedom, and is the necessary counterbalance or correspondence to the manifestation of Horus.”

Thus far, Parsons is reasoning in a sound manner.

Keep in mind, however, that he is working with his ‘friend’ Hubbard, then in the very process of making off with Parsons’ money and lover; a man who was to tell his son, Ron Jr., a few years later, to use and discard Scarlet Women. In what sense “scarlet?” the younger Hubbard asked.

“Scarlet,” the Scientology ‘Source’ replied, “the blood of their bodies; the blood of their souls… bend their bodies; bend their minds; bend their wills; beat back the past.” 9

This is the grossest perversion of Crowley’s teaching.

The latter merely observed in the same context,

“We do opine that it is better and easier that the other party should be in ignorance of the sacred character of the Office. It is enough if that assistant be formed by Nature signally for the physical task, robust, vigorous, eager, sensible, hot and healthy; flesh, nerve and blood being tense, quick, and lively, easily enflamed, and nigh inextinguishable.” 10

Crowley is telling us that a partner in sexual magick should, ideally, in his opinion, be involved for the sake of sensual pleasure, pure and simple.

Hubbard is telling his own son how to enslave minds, bodies and souls. Parsons, who wrote extensively on the subject of freedom, could have had no idea of what type of person he was engaged in High Magick with.

In any case, Parsons goes on to narrate that,

“In January 1946 I had been engaged in the study and practice of Magick for seven years, and in the supervision and operation of an occult lodge for four years 11, having been initiated into the Sanctuary of the Gnosis by the Beast 666, Fra. 132, and Fra. Saturnus 12. At this time I decided upon a Magical operation designed to obtain the assistance of an elemental mate.” 13

In a sense, deprived of his former lover, Parsons was ‘going for broke’ in looking for a partner to create a magical child with;

“All or nothing – I have no other terms,” as he put it to Crowley.14

Beginning on January 4, 1946 at 9:00 PM, Parsons and Hubbard employed the powerful Enochian Air Tablet, using an Air Dagger, parchment talisman, invocations, conjurations, Enochian Calls and invocations, and appropriate banishings 15.

According to Parsons, at various times over subsequent days, wind storms were raised, electrical power was disrupted (January 14), during which Hubbard allegedly had a candle knocked from his hand by Something; several witnesses saw a “brownish yellow light about seven feet high” 16 which Parsons banished.17

On January 18 Parsons and Hubbard were out in the Mojave Desert when Parsons suddenly had an epiphany, and realized the experiment was accomplished.18

“I returned home,” he tells us, “and found a young woman answering the requirements 19 waiting for me.”

For the next month he invoked BABALON with her as his partner, “as was proper to one of my grade” 20 – in other words, by the sexual Eucharist of the Mass of the Holy Ghost.

While his magical partner visited in New York, on February 28, Parsons returned to the Mojave, and received a “communication” he referred to as Liber 49, The Book of Babalon, which identifies its source as Babalon Herself. It should be noted that Hubbard was also away then.

Liber 49 asserts, among other things,

“The working is of nine moons… And she shall wander in the witch-wood under the Night of Pan, and know the mysteries of the Goat and the Serpent, and of the children that are hidden away… I will provide the place and the material basis, thou the tears and blood… Thy tears, thy sweat, thy blood, thy semen, thy love, thy faith shall provide. Ah, I shall drain thee like the cup that is of me, Babalon 21

…Let me behold thee naked and lusting after me, calling upon my name… Let me receive all thy manhood within my Cup, climax upon climax, joy upon joy… Gather together in the covens as of old… Gather together in secret, be naked and shameless and rejoice in my name.” 22

It is interesting that much of this anticipates the emergence of Wicca, at a time when Gerald Gardner in England was only beginning to formulate his ideas. Parsons spent much of the remainder of his short magical career writing on the subject of ‘witchcraft’ .

In any event, when Parsons communicated the Good News to Crowley, the old Magus was perplexed, or amused, or, conceivably both.

He wrote Parsons,

“You have me completely puzzled by your remarks. I thought I had a morbid imagination, as good as any man’s, but it seems I have not. I cannot form the slightest idea what you can possibly mean.”

Apparently undaunted, upon Hubbard’s return Parsons prepared to impregnate his magical partner, impressed by a vision Hubbard had “of a savage and beautiful woman riding naked on a great cat-like beast.”

According to Francis King’s account,

“Parsons was High Priest and had sexual intercourse with the girl, while Hubbard who was present acted as scryer, seer, or clairvoyant”.

This occurred on the first three days of March, 1946.

The aftermath is the subject of much rumor, and points out the high significance of sexual magick.

“This secret is the true Key to Magick,” said Crowley, “that is, by the right use of this secret man may impose his Will on Nature herself…”

Hubbard took off with Parsons’ former partner and the funds of their joint enterprise. Parsons caught up with Hubbard in July of 1946 in Miami, having to evoke Bartzabel 23 to raise a storm at sea, forcing Hubbard back to shore.

Ron Hubbard nevertheless married Parsons’ former lover the following month, and went on to write Dianetics – The Science of Mental Health and, eventually, to organize the Church of Scientology, built on a hidden mythos of a 75 million year old disaster in which the inhabitants of a 76 planet galactic federation were blown up by a dictator named Xenu.

This science fiction ‘space opera’ from Hubbard’s pulp fiction days forms a bizarre underpinning to an already bizarre story.24

For the rest of it, it depends entirely on whom you talk to. Was a “magical child” – conceived ritually March 4, 1946, born into this world as Babalon Incarnate on or about “nine moons” later, on or about December 4, 1946? Is such a being, a woman of about 50, alive today? Or was there a more ethereal ‘birth’ – perhaps, on a spiritual level, the true “birth date” of Gardnerian Wicca and its various descendent bodies, and on a more material level, the birth of modern ‘second wave’ feminism.

Surely, the timing of the Babalon Working and the arrival of the Post War Baby Boom is simultaneous in an eerie sort of way. UFO buffs have of late been touting a theory that Hubbard came to Parsons with a purpose more grandiose than “the ordinary confidence game”.

In pulp magazine circles, he had encountered any number of occultists and border occultists (Talbot Mundy, Col. Arthur Burks, Major Donald Keyhoe, Ray Palmer and Richard S. Shaver come to mind 25), and had already formulated the core of the “inner Scientology teaching” outlined above.

He wished to bring this other world into Manifestation, but lacked the technical knowledge to do so. So, he came to the innocent sex magician Jack Parsons. In this version, the Babalon Working, guided by Hubbard, had little to do with “Babalon” and more to do with the hideous Old Ones of the H.P. Lovecraft Cthulhu Mythos.

“A door opened; something came through” is the essence of this thesis, and the appearance of the first “flying saucer” case the following year is considered, in this outré rumor, not coincidental at all.

The Babalon Working permanently alienated Parsons from Crowley, but the work of the ill-fated rocket scientist has more recently been reevaluated in a more favorable light by present day occultists and UFOlogists alike.
